Municipality Council:

There are 132 members in the council of Biratnagar Sub-Metropolitan City in which there are Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chairman of the ward, Committee members of the ward council and twenty nominated members. The meeting of the council will be held twice a year which resolves rules, programmes and budget.

Municipality Board:

The board of the municipality is formed of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, every Chairman of the wards and two nominated members in which the acting official of His Majesty's Government Ministry of Local Development will be the member of secretary of the board.

Ward Council:

The Biratnagar Sub-Metropolitan City has been divided into 22 wards. The chairmanship of the ward council will be taken by the chairman of the ward the members of the ward will be the members of the ward council.
